What KindMark is

KindMark is a scarce, portable credential of exceptional kindness. A mark is awarded to a person by a gatekept, qualified member, kept private until the recipient claims it and consents to publish. It is not a public reputation system, a rating service, a ranking of people, or a score. A mark records a specific act, attributed to the member who witnessed it.

If you receive a mark

• Keep your account secure; sign-in is by one-time email code.
• Claiming is your choice — you may make a mark public, keep it private, or decline it.
• Do not claim a mark that is not about you, and do not impersonate anyone.

If you are a member

Membership is invitation-only and accountable. By awarding marks you agree to:

• Award a mark only for a genuine act of kindness you personally witnessed or can stand behind, in your own honest words.
• Not award marks in exchange for payment, nor for friends, family, or yourself, and not coordinate to inflate anyone’s standing.
• Vouch new members in good faith — you are accountable for who you bring in.

Recognition is a revocable privilege. We may adjust a member’s tier, or suspend or remove a member, to protect the integrity of the credential.

No claims about character, no payments

A mark describes an act, not a person’s character, and never ranks one person against another. KindMark does not process payments, hold funds, or take a share of any money — it is not a tipping or payment service.

Content and ownership

A claimed mark belongs to the person it is about; they decide whether it is ever public. The member’s citation is their own words. You grant KindMark permission to store and process this content to operate the service and to display only what the recipient has chosen to make public.

Moderation

To protect the integrity of the credential, we may review, hide, revoke, or remove a mark that violates these terms, and may suspend or remove accounts — recipient or member — engaged in abuse or manipulation.

Disclaimer

KindMark is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. A mark is one member’s account of a specific act — not a certification, guarantee, background check, or professional endorsement.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
